- To all esteemed delegates and respected guests, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 2025 Korean International School in Hanoi Model United Nations. I am Lee Heeyoung, the Secretary-General of this year’s KISHMUN conference.
- It has been four years since KISHMUN began its annual conferences, and now, we stand before our fifth conference. With the passage of time, the challenges facing our world have escalated into global issues that are not only more numerous but also graver than ever before. We must strive to seek continuous and forward-looking solutions and follow sustainable development goals to confront these pressing challenges.
- I believe that KISHMUN serves as the best and the most effective way to prepare students to tackle the urgent concerns that await us in the future. As they prepare for the conference, students will acquire meaningful perspectives on the political systems of various countries and deepen their understanding of the complexities of international relations. In addition, they will debate major global issues and develop the essential skills of diplomacy, negotiation and leadership, serving as the delegates, or chairs.
- I am confident that participating in KISHMUN will empower students to grow as global citizens, equipped with the qualities necessary to thrive in an interconnected world. KISHMUN is not just about debating and competing. It is a forum of endless learning, where we question, unite, and discover how to drive change in our world.
- Over the past four years, KISHMUN has steadily grown through the passion and dedication of its students, and we are preparing for the fifth conference today. I have been truly fortunate to receive the support of many remarkable individuals throughout the preparation of 2025 KISHMUN. This one-year MUN experience would not have been possible without the steadfast support of my teachers, the commitment of the leadership group, and the invaluable contributions of the delegation.
- Once again, as a Secretary-General of 2025 KISHMUN, I am deeply honored to open this year’s conference and invite you to embark on this journey of diplomacy, dialogue, and collaboration. All the delegates, and chairs, it’s your time to take this stage with confidence, and share your voice. Debate fearlessly, collaborate earnestly and let your creativity shine through every word you speak and every resolution you write. When the moment comes, raise your placard and show your passion.
